My first week abroad was honestly one of the toughest weeks of my life. Its easy to say I'm an unlucky sufferer of chronic anxiety, and with a terrible case of jet lag and leaving my close family and friends behind, it was at an all time high. It wasn't until we were finally on the road that I found my feet again, and remembered why I made this massive step in the first place. For my love of travel...

After purchasing our new home on wheels, we set off up North to the Highlands. Let's just say my expectations were exceeded over and over again, as we made our way through the shores of Loch Lomond, the intensely eery and beautiful mountains of glencoe, the nostalgic Harry Potter rail roads in Glenfinnan, and the magical island of Skye. Honestly words can not describe what our eyes were greeted with at every new destination, scenery was so amazing and a photographers dream!

The place that really stood out to me, and now holds a special place in my heart, is Isle of Skye. The main town, Portree, is the most adorable little town with brightly painted houses set alongside a beautiful natural harbour that is fringed with high mountains and cliffs. We only spent two nights and one full day on the island exploring, which was enough time to see most of the stunning landscapes and hidden gems that it had to offer. If you're planning to climb the Old Man of Storr, I strongly suggest you wear hiking gear or you might end up in tears haha! If you can, climb to the top of the Storr, because the views are extraordinarily beautiful and not to be missed.

If crystal clear, sparkling blue water holes sounds enticing to you, then Fairy Pools is a must see! It's like stepping into a real life fairytale. Kyle and I regretfully didn't bring our swimmers, and the temptation to swim was so unbearable we almost bit the bullet and jumped in fully clothed. So if you are visiting in the summer, pack your swimmers, be brave, and go for a swim :).

Honestly Scotland is such a beautiful country, and the people are overly nice and super generous. A big thank you to all of Kyles family who made us feel so welcome, and helped us to get settled.
